This is the companion model to the 1:350
Master Replicas
USS Enterprise (which I am selling separately:

). This is an exquisite, one-of-a-kind, custom-built and painted model from the all-resin kit by Fantastic Plastic but with upgraded brass photo-etched parts for the solar/radiator assemblies (screens and rods). In the original Botany Bay studio filming model these see-through panels were made from the same exact screen material that was used in the 11-foot Enterprise model to make the warp pylon grills. Likewise, as in the studio models, the same photo-etched parts are used for this model to match the 1:350 Enterprise parts. This amazing replica, which I had commissioned from a talented model builder, is faithful in every detail, painted and "weathered" exactly as the 43” studio model was.
The last image is of the actual filming model.
My photos of this model alongside the Master Replicas USS Enterprise utilize a blue-screen-painted hollow wooden “studio stage” with the actual model display base positioned underneath (see photo). I also painted a large “blue-screen” background along with brass rod sleeves to slide over the base stand rods on both models. The classic scene is of course from TOS episode, “Space Seed.” These blue-screen additions are not included here. As with its companion piece, the Enterprise, this model has been handled with white cotton gloves only by me and has been displayed inside a custom acrylic case in a smoke-free, climate controlled room. It has been carefully packed well-protected inside a custom wooden crate (see photos) and will ship well-cushioned, double-boxed and fully insured.

About the S.S. Botany Bay:
The DY-100 sleeper ship "Botany Bay" appeared on "Star Trek's" classic first season episode "Space Seed," the episode that was the basis for the 1982 motion picture "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan."  The ship was ostensibly a late 20th Century deep space vessel, one used by the eugenically enhanced dictator Khan Noonian Singh and his followers to flee earth at the end of WWIII for parts unknown. Since the craft was powered by sub-light ion engines, crewmembers were required to spend their multi-year journeys in suspended animation.
The craft, designed by Star Trek's art director Matt Jefferies, was one of the few custom miniatures created for the budget-strapped Original Series.  The same model was subsequently used as the ill-fated "automated ore carrier" in the second season episode, "The Ultimate Computer."
