    Description

Offered is this lovely ruby-stained pressed-glass butter dish with lid. The ruby-stained crisscross design called Cambridge Ribbon was introduced in 1908.
The bottom of the butter dish is shaped like a shallow bowl with a zigzag rim. A half-pound tub of soft butter would fit in the bowl, which would then be covered for protection.
The zigzag rim is trimmed in gold.
The bottom of the dish measures 7.25 inches in diameter (18.5 cm). The well that holds the butter measures 4.5 inches (11.5 cm). With the domed lid in place, the dish measures about 5 inches high (13 cm).
Very good condition for its years. One point on the bowl rim has a small chip. Otherwise no chips or cracks. Gold trim in very good condition.
