Frequently Asked Questions
••
Q: Could you recommend a product to deep clean my hair without stripping it of its natural moisture?
A: DHS Regular Shampoo is for daily hair and scalp cleansing. It's rich, Ph balanced formula dissolves dirt and oil.
•••
Q: Can the DHS Rinse be used with the DHS Sal Shampoo?
A: Yes. In fact the DHS Rinse is ideal for use with all six of our shampoos. Designed with the most sensitive users in mind, the DHS Rinse is unscented and hypoallergenic.
•••
Q: I need a product to help with my severely dry scalp. I’ve tried other brands that smell "medicated”. Do you have something that might be more pleasing to my nose?
A: Yes. DHS Tar Gel Shampoo, like our original DHS Tar Shampoo, is not only designed to help calm irritated skin and promote a healthy scalp, but it has an added mild lemon scent.
•••
Q: Is DHS Zinc Shampoo to be used every day?
A: We recommend using DHS Zinc, DHS Sal and DHS Tar Shampoos three times each week, or as recommended by your doctor. We suggest using either our DHS Regular or Clear Shampoo during the "off” days. Daily use of the DHS Conditioning Rinse will also help hair and skin maintain a natural moisture balance.
•••
Q: I’m extremely sensitive to chemicals, especially fragrances. What shampoo would you recommend?
A: DHS Clear Shampoo has been specifically formulated with sensitive users in mind. Not only is it completely fragrance free, but also color free.
•••
Q: Do you carry any products that would be appropriate for treating Folliculitis?
A: The symptoms of folliculitis, or inflammation at the base of the hair follicles, may be improved with use of our DHS Tar Shampoo. Since only a doctor can diagnose your condition, we recommend talking with your doctor or dermatologist to determine the best course of treatment for your symptoms.
•••
Q: I noticed the DHS Zinc Shampoo uses TEA Lauryl Sulfate. Is this ingredient associated with the Sulfa group of drugs?
A: Our shampoo no longer contains TEA Lauryl Sulfate and it only worked as a cleansing agent.
Q: Can DHS Clear Shampoo and DHS Conditioning Rinse be used on color-treated, permed or straightened hair?
Yes, but DHS Clear Shampoo and DHS Conditioning Rinse are not guaranteed to be color-safe. Please try our DHS Color Safe Shampoo and DHS Color Safe Rinse that work very well together. DHS Color Safe Shampoo & Rinse were developed to hold the color while providing excellent hair conditioning with enhanced hair thickening and ease of combing, while reducing drying time. Best used together for optimum benefits.
