    Description

Indigenous to the Sonoran Desert, the Chain Fruit Cholla variety is the largest and thickest of the Cholla species. When harvested, cut and cleaned, it has the most intricate woven patterns resembling fibrous strands wrapped in a spiraling form. Each piece is unique and no two are alike. The size measurements of the large Chain Fruit Cholla wood range from 3-4" outside diameter, 1-2" inside diameter.
All of my Chain Fruit Cholla is harvested from private land, and every piece has died from natural causes; no chemicals are used to kill the plants nor are chemicals used during my cleaning process..I DO NOT BLEACH my Cholla during the cleaning process either. I only use sand and water and the beautiful yellowish/brown colors are all generated by the wood itself.
Soaking the Cholla will be essential for aquatics use. It may take a few days for the wood to completely absorb all the water it needs in order to sink into the tank. Monitor time accordingly.
International orders are welcome, however additional shipping costs will apply depending on the country that the shipment is going to.
*I understand that I am not the cheapest business to buy Cholla from.  There are others here on eBay and the internet that sell their Cholla much cheaper.  However, my product is the most beautiful, biggest, and unique Cholla out there.  It it more than just a habitat for your aquatic pets, water stabilizer or air plant stand.  It is a work of natural art.  My process is all done by hand and I do not just go out to the ranch and merely pick, cut and ship it.
It is first stripped by hand of all bark and cactus needles.  Then it is cut into straight pieces which are anywhere from 5-9 ft. long.  It is then hauled 5 hrs. away to my business with where it is cut into smaller pieces.  Each and every piece is then reamed out by hand with a boring drill in order to remove the entire root system out.  The last stage is my special cleaning process where I use sand and water to strip the Cholla of dirt, insects and excess debris.  True handcrafted agriculture, I like to call it.
My intent behind this description is to explain a little detail of how much work goes into this Cholla and why the price is justified.*
