Here is my own formula for a handy and effective utility wax or "fixin'" wax. Unlike some other commercial brands on the market, there is no tallow or animal fat in my formula, so it won't go rancid in the heat or from age. Natural beeswax is the base and there are a few other natural compounds in the mixture. The beeswax offers a bit of waterproofing and the other natural oils serve for purposes of lubrication and preservation. If you have ever used my patched ball lubrication for your muzzleloaders this is almost the same formula but with a different ratio of ingredients. Also, if you have bought any pouches or sheaths from me made from tooling leather, this is the formula your item was treated with before it left my shop. This is like the multi-tool of the wax world. It can be applied to leather to shine it up and keep it from drying out and you can put it on your boots for the same reason. In the pictures there is an Old Timer lock blade knife in a beat up leather sheath. That is 30 years old, and has been abused severely over the years, but the leather is still soft, pliable, and somewhat shiny due to being treated with this formula.
It makes a fantastic bow string wax for traditional or compound bow shooters. I use it on woodwork as well. All the wood handled ferro rods, hobo fishing reels, tool handles, knife handles on my handmade knives, and any other small woodwork I may do, is treated with a coating of this formula as a last step before shipping out the product. Also serves very well as a patched round ball lubricant. While I make no claims that this product has any medicinal value, I have used it on dry/chapped hands and arms with great results and, just today, got a nasty little cut from the edge of the belt on my belt grinder. Put a little of this on it and the burning stopped immediately.
It comes in a screw top tin about the size of a snuff can. Bigger quantities coming soon. This size though is the perfect fit for a pocket, possibles bag, or rucksack, and contains enough for quite a bit of field use. Just like that hot sauce commercial on TV, when it comes to my gear, I put this s#!t on everything...

My items are marked for up to five business days handling time but, in most cases, your package will not take that long to ship. Depending on volume of orders at the time of purchase, and quantities on hand, your package will ship somewhere between same day (of order) and five days after time of order. You will get a message from me after your order is placed giving you an indication of how long it will be. My standard shipping days are Mondays and Wednesdays, and most packages ship within three business days or less.
