Description
This is item is a 7500 Watt emergency generator manual switch panel. It has never been installed or used. I purchased this a couple of years ago for my detached garage. Due to an injury I never got around to using it for my garage. It is made for Briggs and Stratton by Cutler Hammer (very good brands). It comes pre-wired. When I got it, it had some cracked plastic on the outer cosmetic covers. It is not made for outside use, it is an inside switching panel, so that does not affect the ability to use it. I did glue some of the plastic cosmetic parts that enclose the main switch area.
The outer flip cover will hang on it but the bottom tabs are long gone. This is purely cosmetic.
It will make a great unit for anyone wanting a simple transfer switch unit to run small items like a heater and several lights during a power outage.
Be advised that this is designed for 30 Amps from a portable emergency generator and not meant to run a large house. I have run my basic house needs with a 5500 Watt Generator for emergencies several times over the years. Some people get confused by the big numbers for Watts vs. Amps, so I want to be clear on that.
A 6KW generator or larger is recommended with a 30A twist lock connector. A Generator cord and a 30A inlet box is highly recommended for a clean easy connection. Do not use a "suicide cord" and try to power back through a clothes drier outlet. That will result in serious personal injury, damages and possible fire.
I accept PayPal and ship UPS. Shipping is not free, I am asking a fair price, but I will ship at what it costs too get it to you.
